For Blender artists

AI rigging and animation for Blender artists

Model in Blender, rig and animate in Nira, and bring the result back to Blender. Blender imports glTF natively, so the round-trip needs no add-ons.

Auto-rigging a character in Nira
  • Skip the armature step

Nira places bones and paints weights, the part of Blender rigging most people dread.

  • Native glTF round-trip

Blender's built-in glTF importer brings in the mesh, armature, and actions.

  • Keep your Blender workflow

Refine, light, and render in Blender as usual.

Why Blender artists use an AI rigger

Blender's rigging tools are powerful, but building an armature, parenting with automatic weights, and fixing the weight paint that auto-weights get wrong takes hours per character. Many artists who love modelling never get their characters moving for that reason.

Nira handles the rig and the skin weights, and adds motion on top. You spend your Blender time on the parts you enjoy.

The round-trip

  • In Blender, export your model with File > Export > glTF 2.0 (.glb).
  • Upload the GLB to Nira, rig it, and generate or edit animation.
  • Export from Nira as GLB.
  • In Blender, use File > Import > glTF 2.0. The armature and every clip come in as actions.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a Blender add-on?

No. Blender imports and exports glTF 2.0 natively.

Will my materials survive the round-trip?

glTF carries standard PBR materials. Complex Blender node setups are simplified on export, so keep your original .blend file and re-link materials if you need them.

Can I edit the rig afterwards in Blender?

Yes. The rig imports as a regular Blender armature you can edit, add controls to, or re-weight.

Bring your character to life
