For Unity developers
AI character animation for Unity
Rig and animate characters in the browser, then bring them into Unity as GLB. Nira checks the rig for Unity compatibility before you export, so there are no surprises on import.
Unity compatibility check
Nira reports rig issues that would break Unity's import or Humanoid avatar setup.
Clips as separate animations
Each clip exports as its own animation, ready for an Animator Controller.
Loop-ready idles and cycles
Fix loop seams in Nira so locomotion cycles play cleanly in Unity.
From mesh to Unity in one pass
Start with any character, whether an asset-store model, a Blender sculpt, or an AI-generated mesh. Nira auto-rigs it, generates the clips you need (idle, walk, run, jump), and exports a single GLB with the rig and every clip inside.
Importing Nira GLB files into Unity
Unity reads glTF and GLB through Unity's own glTFast package, available from the Package Manager. Once it is installed, drop the GLB into your Assets folder and the mesh, skeleton, and animation clips import together.
- Install glTFast from the Unity Package Manager.
- Drag the exported .glb into Assets.
- Add the animation clips to an Animator Controller, or play them with the Animation component.
- For humanoid characters, configure the avatar to share clips with other humanoid rigs.
Prototype faster
The slow part of a Unity prototype is often getting characters moving at all. With Nira, a placeholder character can go from static mesh to a playable move set in minutes, so you can test gameplay before commissioning final animation.
Frequently asked questions
Does Nira export FBX for Unity?
Nira exports GLB and GLTF. Unity imports these through its official glTFast package, including the rig and animation clips.
Will the character work with Unity's Humanoid avatar?
Humanoid characters rigged in Nira use a standard humanoid hierarchy, and the rig checker flags anything that would stop Unity's avatar mapping from working.
Can I animate non-humanoid characters for Unity?
Yes. Creature rigs export the same way and use Unity's Generic rig type.
Bring your character to life
Upload a mesh and Nira rigs it, animates it, and exports it. New accounts start with 50 free tokens.
